AFNOR Certification adds a QR code to certificates for guaranteed reliability

All printed versions of assessment certificates issued by AFNOR Certification will gradually be accompanied by a QR code. The aim is to help certified organizations promote and prove the validity of their certificate to their customers and contractors.

QR Code certificat

AFNOR Certification is innovating by becoming the first certification body in the country to include a QR code in its printed assessment certificates. A QR code is a barcode image comprising black modules arranged in a square grid on a white background, which can be read by a smartphone with the single objective of enabling certified organizations to prove that they have been issued with a valid certificate.

Scanning a QR code on an AFNOR certificate gives immediate access to the corresponding electronic version and proves its validity.

By the end of 2015, all new certificates issued will contain a QR code. What are the advantages? Armed with their renewed certificate in 2018 or 2021, certified organizations can provide access to the relevant certification and guarantee the reliability of the paper document displayed or sent by post.

The first organization to possess a certificate with a QR code is the tourist information centre in Vallée de Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, whose NF Service certification has just been renewed!
